BIGGER RELIEF FUNDS
Legitimate Places to Give Larger Donations If You Have the Means
Our hearts go out to everyone who has experienced devastating loss due to the fires that have ripped through our communities here in Southern Oregon. We’re donating $10,000 to start things off and are asking our fellow cannabis businesses to donate if they’re able. If you or someone you know has lost their home due to the fires in the Rogue Valley, please send us a DM (on Instagram). If you’d like to donate or help sponsor a family in need, click here!
All donations will assist with rebuilding our communities, relief aid and efforts for the areas affected by the Almeda/Glendower Fire, Obenchain Fire and surrounding fires. Rogue will be matching all donations up to $100,000.
Southern Oregon has been devastated by unprecedented fires. Thousands of homes are now just piles of ash. Our farms and farmworkers have been hit hard--and need your help to recover! Even while the air is unbreathable and flames still threaten, we are rising together for the long road ahead. Please join by giving today. Our fund will provide shelter for the wonderful people who work the fields to fill our plates.
n-House has roots in Southern Oregon and will be linking up with local resources over the coming weeks. We have dropped off our first load of much needed supplies. Unprecedented times at the moment. The whole West Coast is smoked out and people have been and still are being evacuated and losing their homes. There are efforts out there to get critical donations and supplies to those in need. Many people are currently struggling already and may not be able to contribute financially however you take a few moments and contribute by sharing information via social media of those local causes that are working hard to get supplies out to the people in need. Every bit effort helps.
#ALMEDAFIRES LATINX RELIEF FUND We know that when disaster strikes it is our low-income, disabled, working class BIPOC communities who are hit the hardest. We are starting this GoFundMe to provide hyper local, neighborhood-specific relief to our community members in the mobile home communities of Talent, Phoenix, and Medford who lost everything to the #AlmedaFires. We know that there are many relief funds and insurance claims that our mixed-status communities won't be able to qualify for. Our working class communities can't afford insurance and even if we could, insurance companies don't insure mobile homes because they are prone to fire damage and Oregon is a high-risk region. Our goal is to raise $ 50,000 and it will be used to help families with; Housing, food, laundromat services, clothing, gas, utilities, child care services, medical costs, phone bills, PPE, and to replace essential tools and electronics.
What we know right now : Many families have lost everything. We are estimating that approximately 50% of our families have lost their homes. All of our schools are standing due to the valiant efforts of our first responders during this tragic event. Most of our district does not have power, water (including our schools), and there are areas that are still unsafe. If you would like to contribute to a fund to help the families from Phoenix Talent who have lost their homes or had to be evacuated because of the fire affecting our community, please send your cash or gift card donation to: Phoenix Talent Fire Relief Fund PO Box 937 Medford, OR 97501 Please, make checks payable to: Jackson County School District # 4 You can also come by Orchard Hill Elementary at 1011 La Loma Dr. in Medford and drop your cash / gift card donation there. We are conducting district operations from this school.
The Rogue Valley Relief Fund will go directly to help people most impacted by these fires in the Rogue Valley. In the short term, this fund will be used to directly meet the needs of those who have been displaced by fires—it will buy tents, meals, gas, and other supplies folks need immediately. In the long term, we hope that this fund will support people who have lost their homes in these fires as they rebuild their lives, prioritizing those who have the least access to aid. In setting up this fund, MRG has responded to the direct request for help from organizations on the ground and those working in the frontlines that are already working to respond to the fires, including our grantees Rogue Action Center and Rogue Climate, as well as SOHealth-e, SO Equity, and Siskiyou Rising Tide. You may also send donations via check, made out to “MRG Foundation” with a note that says “Rogue Valley Relief Fund,” to: MRG Foundation PO Box 12489 Portland, OR 97212 The Fund has been seeded with a $10,000 initial investment from MRG and has a goal of raising $500,000 over the next six months.
